Latest Update: Suspense on Mars as Europe Awaits Signal from Lander
The European Space Agency is awaiting signal confirmation that the Schiaparelli lander made it safely to the surface of Mars. Flight controllers received a signal just before landing, then silence. They are now waiting for the lander’s preprogrammed call home.
