The 42-year-old looked unrecognisable at the opening of Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, Barbecoa, this week.

Appearing in a slim fitting navy blue blazer, white T-shirt and skinny jeans, Chris appeared half the man he used to be – but how did the former BBC radio host undergo such a dramatic transformation?

Since embarking on his new journey at Radio X (previously XFM) in 2014, Chris has been open about his attempt to keep off the pounds.

He previously admitted his job as an early morning breakfast had an affect on his health and dubbed it the “fat breakfast DJ stage”.

He used to eat around 2,000 calories per day, but the star has now managed to ditch the junk food and take on a strict running fitness regime.

Although he still eats the same amount of calories now, he’s swapped greasy pizza and fatty ice-cream for fresh fruit and vegetables with nutrient dense grains, quinoa and oatmeal, according to Good to Know.

Back in 2014, after Chris first revealed his impressive five stone weight loss transformation, he told The Sun: “I don’t know what I used to think when I looked in the mirror when I was at my worst.

“Now if I go out on a Friday or Saturday and ave a few beers, I can see that I’m bloating in the mirror on Sunday.

The 40-year-old comedian has been on a healthy eating kick since his so’s computer branded him “overweight” in 2014.

Talking on Graham Norton’s chat show at the time, Michael, who admitted he once pulled a muscle getting food out of the fridge, revealed: “I’ve had lots of clues over the years that perhaps I should lose weight, but something happened in December which finally made me want to do it.

“My son has an app called Akinator the Genie that guesses the famous people you’re thinking of by asking questions, so for egotistical reasons I thought while my son was at school I’d see if I was on it.

“It started asking questions like, ‘Is it a man?’ and ‘Is he American?’ and it narrowed it down to a British comedian with dark hair.

“I’m getting a little excited wondering it it’s me in the game and ten it asks, ‘Is he slightly over weight? So I had a moment of truth, took a deep breath and said ‘yes’ and it replied, ‘is it Michael McIntyre?’ So I haven’t eaten since then!”

Let’s block ads! (Why?)
