Sophie Hardy, 25, from Durham, beat over 500 applicants to bag the coveted role.
The pretty brunette will now spend five weeks travelling the UK eating delicious meals and blogging about her experiences.
Most importantly, Sophie will be sharing her weekly weigh-ins online to prove to those following Weight Watchers that you can have a social life and reach your body goals.
At just 16, Sophie had already reached a size 26 – and realising she could not continue getting bigger, she turned to Weight Watchers to shed the pounds.
She dropped five stone – but after enjoying her success a little too much, the weight crept back up.
She rejoined Weight Watchers in January of this year, and is only two stone away from her goal weight.
Excited by her new position and determined that it won’t throw her off her goals, Sophie spoke to Express.co.uk and said: “I love food and I’ve always eaten out around three times a week, and I’m keen to show having a life doesn’t mean you have to stop living.
“There are ways to approach eating out so that it works alongside something like Weight Watchers.
“I try and look at the menu before I go to a restaurant so that I’m sure there are good options for me.
“If this isn’t possible, I look out for keywords such as grilled or steamed as I know that dish will likely be fine, and avoid anything fried or buttered.”
Sophie does also exercise too, something she has always done.
She said: “I’ve always been a gym-goer, and I love the classes, like Zumba.
“I also love going for long walks, which I find is the easiest way to get moving without it feeling like a chore.”
Sophie is wary of the latest slew of gorgeous girls promoting healthy lifestyles on social media.
She said: “Those Istagrammers are unrealistic role models – they were all pretty slim to begin with anyway, and their lives are healthy living, which isn’t sustainable for people with a job and a social life.”
Weight Watchers decided to introduce the role after research they conducted found 71 per cent of Brits feel dieting makes socialising difficult.
In fact, 27 per cent of people admitted to cancelling plans to avoid over-eating.
Speaking about Sophie’s appointment, Julia Westgarth, Programme Development Manager at Weight Watchers said: “It is shocking to see how big an impact fad diets and other well known weight loss programmes are having on British social lives.
“Losing weight doesn’t have to be restrictive and Weight Watchers can help you to enjoy all the foods you love, at home and while out, and still lose weight.
“We are proud to provide a programme that encourages a flexible and balanced approach to leading a healthier lifestyle that simplifies healthy eating meaning that with Weight Watchers, you can lose up to eight times more weight than on your own.
“Our Official Eating Officer will demonstrate how Weight Watchers guides people towards smarter food choices and teaches skills, such as portion control, to achieve long term success, so social lives don’t need to be compromised.”
