Bloated stomach? Experts warn THIS popular healthy drink could be to blame [bestandroiddoubledinheadunit950.blogspot.com]

Bloating can be caused by many different factors, including the food you eat and how you eat it.

While most cases of stomach bloating are relatively harmless, it can sometimes be a warning sign of a much more serious disease.

Bloating can be a symptom of IBS, coeliac disease and even ovarian cancer.

But in most instances, a bloated stomach can be reduced by making simple changes to dietary intake.

There are many foods that cause bloating, including beans, cruciferous vegetables, wheat and high fat meals.

Drinks, including alcohol, can also play a significant role.

Many people choose sparkling water as a healthy alternative to alcohol or sugary fizzy drinks.

But the choice might be thwarting your quest for a flat stomach.

Experts say the bubbles can cause gases to sit in your digestive track which creates a build up of air.

Dietitian Charlene Grosse told Body+Soul: “Sparkling mineral water simply contains natural gasses, or has been artificially carbonated by pumping carbon dioxide through it.

“Carbonated water can cause a buildup of air that can move down the digestive tract and into the colon, causing bloating and gas.

“If you have stomach issues and experience these after drinking carbonated water, you may be better off eliminating them.”

There are certain foods that will help to reduce your bloating, according to the NHS.

Fibrous foods like wholemeal bread can prevent constipation, while yoghurt is a good choice because of its digestive benefits as a probiotic.

Coconut oil could help to counteract digestive disorders, such as IBS, thanks to its medium chain triglycerides which are easily digested.

If your body is intolerant to certain food groups, dairy-free and gluten-free foods can also help to beat the bloat.
