Tom Watson, 51, has showed off an incredible weight loss as of late – losing more than six stone.

The Labour MP has made no secret of his weight loss secrets, which include following a keto style diet.

The keto diet is a low carbohydrate, high fat diet which has proved popular among slimmers.

Drinking Bulletproof coffee, which contains grass fed butter, was key to his weight loss regime, Tom revealed in his New Statesman column.

He said: “Since last summer I’ve taken off 86lbs through a regime of cutting out sugar, eating better and exercising.

“This morning started with what the LA set call a “bulletproof coffee”.

“It’s basically butter from grass-fed cows blended with fresh coffee – the idea is to get saturated fats into your diet so that you’re not as hungry during the day.

“Does it taste nice? It tastes like milky coffee, as you’d imagine, when you think about the source of butter.”

Tom also went into detail in the column about his exercise regime, which includes weights and circuit training.

He said: ““I lift weights, struggle at circuit training, cycle wherever I can, and try to take 10,000 steps a day.”

Finally, Tom uses a motivational tactic called “nudge theory” – where he gives himself positive rewards for weight loss.

He said:  “I’ve motivated myself with some rudimentary “nudge” theory – every time I reach a weight loss goal, I buy a new piece of kit for my bike.

“When I’ve lost my hundredth pound I’m going to treat myself to a new bike (I’m considering a Brompton but do send suggestions).”

Another great example of a public figure losing weight is Gregg Wallace’s weight loss.

Gregg Wallace, 53, is best known for his television presenter roles on Masterchef, Saturday Kitchen and, most recently, BBC One’s Eat Well For Less.

While his career is built around food, the TV star has managed to achieve an impressive weight loss.

Gregg once described himself in 2011 as “just the fat, bald bloke on MasterChef who likes pudding” in an interview with iVillage.

In recent years, he has transformed his physique, dropping a total of three stone.

So how did he manage to achieve this impressive weight loss?

Adding low fat meats to his favourite meals helped him drop the weight without giving up what he loves, he told The Sun in November last year.

“I’m a huge fan of curries, chillies and stews and it is still possible to lose weight and eat hearty meals,” he said. “Think about cooking with meats such as chicken and pork — all the things that don’t have much fat.”
