Rosemary Shrager, 67, who is known for appearing on various reality TV programmes revealed how she lost weight.

The British chef has appeared on Ladette to Lady, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and was one of the cooking duo Two Fat Ladies.

She also owns the Rosemary Shrager Cookery School.

While a love of food is part and parcel of being a professional cook, the TV star has admitted to struggling with her weight in the past.

In January last year she told the Mirror: “And I’m never going to be thin.”

However, she did lose three dress sizes in an impressive weight loss push.

With the three dresses sizes Shrager also lost a whopping 14cm from her waist.

So how did she do it? Rosemary revealed a bizarre diet tip.

Prunes are the secret to her slimmer shape, according to the chef.

She told the paper: “”I love prunes – this is not a wind up! I seriously love them, and I have always loved them, and I eat them like sweets.

“I’ve lost three dress sizes and I feel a lot better in myself – my skin is clearer, my arthritis has eased, everything is better.”

By snacking on prunes Rosemary claims to have drastically improved her weight and health.

The University of Liverpool published research showing that prunes can help with weight loss, as they are high in fibre.

Liverpool psychologist, Dr Jo Harrold who led the research, said: “These are the first data to demonstrate both weight loss and no negative side effects when consuming prunes as part of a weight management diet.

“Indeed in the long term they may be beneficial to dieters by tackling hunger and satisfying appetite; a major challenge when you are trying to maintain weight loss.”

Another weight loss diet plan has revealed that eating a certain amount of fat can help you shed the pounds.

Researchers claims that those looking to lose weight need to ensure they reduce their fat intake.

An article published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise recommended making sure less than a third of your diet is fat.

Scientists wrote: “It appears that reducing dietary fat intake to less than 30 per cent of total energy intake may facilitate weight loss by reducing total energy intake.”

Dietary fats are found in obvious fatty products such as oil, cheese, milk and yoghurt.
